Safety
The first concern of any good parent when trying something new for their kids should be a simple one: is it safe? Chiropractic has a reputation for including harsh pulling, tugging, and “popping” of bones. However, gentle methods are the norm today, and most chiropractic techniques require little to no twisting or force. This means that the risk of injury is far, far lower when compared to methods of the past, and the likelihood of injury is far lower than that of most common medical practices. In fact, in one study, over 100 infants were adjusted in order to study the effects of chiropractic on infantile colic. Yet, not a single one of them ever had any complications post-adjustment. Instead, the vast majority saw improvements in colic.
Benefits
As mentioned, chiropractic can help kids in many ways. Colic and infant-related issues can be drastically improved upon, including acid reflux, breastfeeding challenges, irregular bowel movements, and more. Chiropractic can also assist with both physical and mental ailments and challenges. A few pediatric conditions that chiropractic can help improve are ADHD, autism, ear infections, bedwetting, behavioral challenges, and sleep issues. This last one is especially important because sleep is so crucial for a child’s growth and development. If kids have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, it can influence how well they learn, grow, and behave.
Kids are notorious for being a little reckless and a bit rambunctious. This means they fall, trip, slip, and otherwise injure themselves frequently. Little bumps and bruises can impact their spinal alignment, which can impede the communication of the nervous system and wreak havoc on the overall health and function of their bodies. Even babies can have spinal misalignments due to the birthing process, feeding positions, and more.
Thankfully, chiropractic adjustments by Dr. Thomas Keogh can help improve the overall function of your child’s entire central nervous system, bringing about optimal health in every area.
